  • Managed Care for Houses

Four separate incidents of our a/c quitting has resulted in four separate technicians with four separate diagnoses and at least 3 separate fees. It appears that we have a freon leak that has finally caused the outside compressor to over heat and sieze up. I called in an Emergency request on May 29th, reporting that I am a 72 year old guy who had surgery three days earlier and that I also have serious chronic respiratory problems which are exacerbated by heat and humidity. The end of the story is that I was told by my AHS "Case Manager" today that the compressor that they... More...

  • AHS

I have been dealing with AHS for the past 9 years without any issues until I needed my HVAC unit started not working in the 10th year of my contract they have made every excuse why not to fix it or replace the unit. This is units that stop working in a period of time with temperatures in excess 100 plus degree Houston Weather at times 25 degree winters without the heater working with a Senior Citizen living in this Household. I have tried every method to get this unit fixed or replace and I get the standard answer it is not in your contract. I highly recommend that you rethink you... More...

  • Nothing but good results

I have been with this company for 5 years and have had numerous claims (mainly A/C units). Other than minor customer service frustrations, I have had favorable results. I always talk with my service techs when they are at the house, and get their opinion on AHS. I have been told by more than one of them, that the key to getting your claim approved is to have clean, dust free appliances, especially the A/C units. I was also told by a very trust-worthy A/C tech that AHS contractor requirements are very stringent and many contractors don't possess the minimum req's to even be... More...

  • Horrible service

Their service is horrible. They charge you a co-pay even if they don't fix the problem. I wish I could be employed by them. No matter what terrible job you do, you get paid. I do not recommend them at all. I have been a customer for over 8 years and all I have is complaint after complaint. I prefer calling someone outside their services and pay them. At least, I don't have to pay unless the work is done and up to standards. More...

  • Extensive Delay in Work Order

Until recently, I was very satisfied with the services rendered through American Home Shield. However, when I put in a request for a work order to check my hot water heater, the amount of time it took for a company to contact me and address the order extended from April 28 to June 3(which is date that my policy was cancelled.) When the company came to the house, they quoted an overcharged price to install the hot water heater and change the hoses given the fact that American Home Shield offered to pay for the hot water heater. After going to Lowes and speaking to one of their knowledgeable... More...

AHS claims code violaitons or improper installation to avoid paying for replacement items or expensive repairs. Before giving their contractors "the additional costs" or cutting your losses, contact your own contractors for an estimate and ask them to verify or discredit the AHS contractor's claims of code violations or improper installation. Take this information and file a complaint with the BBB and your attorney general website. AHS does respond back to them and it gives you a mediator to work through to get your satisfaction. Plus it changes their BBB rating if everyone... More...

  • AHS - A poor example, by any standard

I have had active accounts with them; multiple units for years. Recently, one of the heater blowers in a condo broke. They sent a tech; he didn't even bother to open the unit. He called AHS and submitted a verbal report that the unit was (a) installed wrong and (b)failed because the filters were not replaced. For this, I had to pay my share on the spot. No receipt, no report to me. I obtained AHS permission and called a tech using the condo association referral. They came and confirmed that's how all other heaters were installed; and they showed me how the blower fan broke. It... More...

I have 3 properties with AHS. I have been with them for over 10 years! One of the properties and has had an a/c repair. Ahs has sent the same vendor out 3 times with 3 different problems. Then on the 3rd time - a totally different , yet again, problem. Now, they recommend replacing the a/c. But they can't tell me WHEN they would be able to ship the parts FROM AHS! to the vendor!! AHS has gone to the dogs - THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! They - like many US corporations - THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY $$$$$$$. They are ok - until you have a major problem -... • My A/C on-going repairs

Approximately two weeks or so ago, I called in for a repair of my home central air conditioner. Wells Brothers of Anna, Ohio responded and supposedly fixed it. However, in so doing they did not check the plastic hose and the overflow subsequently was backing up in my crawl space overhead. I called you again and you in turn called them. They came again and repaired the hose, but know that it had leaked in my craw space and brown water has seeped into my kitchen. Wells Brothers told me they would let you know about this and you would, again, send some to repair it. To date, June 20,... More...
